MXR Layers offers rich and natural sustain that gives each strum and note deeper resonance. With its versatile controls, this pedal can be tailored to both simple and complex needs. Whether you want to extend single notes or create multi-layered soundscapes filled with atmosphere, the MXR Layers Pedal enhances the creative potential of your instrument. Craft chords you never thought possible, compose atmospheric melodies, arrange harmonic ensembles, or create dynamic stereo effects—all from a compact and reliable MXR unit.
Hold On to Your Tone
The MXR Layers Pedal provides up to three layers of sustain, each with its own LED indicator to show when it’s active. Using the "Single" button, you can choose to run just one layer or up to three simultaneously. Layers can be triggered either via the footswitch or through your playing dynamics. With the footswitch, you can hold down a note or chord, and when you release the button, the layer will fade out according to the setting on the Decay knob. This is ideal for crafting cool solos over a droning background. Alternatively, layers can be triggered automatically based on your playing style, adjusted via the Trig knob. Combine these two features to create even more creative and multi-dimensional soundscapes.
Tons of Control Options
The MXR Layers Pedal offers simple yet powerful controls to customize your sound layers. The Mix knob adjusts the volume of the layers, while the Trig knob sets the pedal's sensitivity to automatically trigger new layers depending on the intensity of your playing. The Attack knob controls how quickly each layer fades in, while the Decay knob adjusts how slowly they fade out, mimicking the natural vibrations of strings. To create a fuller, deeper sound, you can engage the Sub Oct function, which drops one or more layers by an octave.
Explore Deeper Layers
Beyond its core functions, the MXR Layers Pedal also offers advanced customization for those who want to experiment. Through the pedal's programmable features, you can adjust parameters such as modulation, delay, and diffusion. You can also use an external sustain pedal from your keyboard or an MXR Split + Tap to trigger layers, or combine settings with an expression/volume pedal. The pedal also supports Stereo In, Stereo Out, and Dry/Wet Split modes.
Multiple Levels of Creativity
With its pure and high-quality sustain, the MXR Layers Pedal is ready to become a new favorite in any signal chain. Its advanced features open up new creative possibilities, allowing you to build intricate soundscapes and elevate your musical expression to new heights.
